Each Full and Intermediate Members may pre sign up for a maximum of two cruises on the OYS web site. Each cruise will open with 15 sign-up spaces unless the receiving club indicates that it cannot accommodate 15 incoming boats. In the event that the number of member sign-up’s for any given cruise exceeds 15, the available spaces will be allotted in accordance with the order of sign up and the members who did not make the cut will be given the choice of being on the wait list for that cruise or signing up for any remaining open cruise. A complete roster of members of pre-sign-ups will be posted on the OYS website in real time.

How to sign up to Cruise

Under Cruises in the Member Page, find the Cruising section and click ‘Cruise Pre-Sign Up‘.
  1. Fill in ALL the spaces on form. This is very important to limit the amount of time your Cruising Directors have to spend chasing down missing information!
  2. Each Full & Intermediate membership is limited to 2 cruises at this time.
  3. Associate members are able to attend cruises if they drive or if they accompany a Full Member by boat. However, please do not use the pre-sign up process – we only need members with boats on the list for slip reciprocity. To attend a cruise, Associate members are required to contact the Cruise Captain by the Monday before the cruise. Associate members can attend up to 3 cruises at no cost. For additional cruises each Associate member will be charged $25 per adult, which will be payable upon arrival.
  4. Non-members are welcome to come on a cruise if they are accompanying a Full or Intermediate Member.   There is no charge for children, 17 years and younger, accompanying members. Non-members over 17 will be required to contribute $25 per person to cover the costs of the cruise and this will be payable upon arrival.
  5. Places often open up on approaching cruises as member’s plan change and crusie destinations may allow more than 15 boats including the cruise captain. A notice will be put into the FTD in the weeks leading up to the cruise to let you know if this happens. The notice will provide details of how to sign up.
  6. Depending on the format of the cruise, the Cruise Captain may ask participants to bring a dish to share at the cruise dinner. Alternatively, the cruise may be catered in which case participants will be asked to contribute to the costs instead.
  7. In the event that the number of member sign-up’s for any given cruise exceeds 15, the available spaces will be allotted in accordance with the order of sign up. Members who did not make the cut will be given the choice of being on the wait list for that cruise or signing up for any remaining open cruise.
  8. If unable to attend a cruise for which you have signed up, please contact the OYS Cruise Directors to have your name removed from the list. This will allow another OYS member on the waiting list to attend the cruise and ensure your OYS dock will not be assigned to a member of the visiting reciprocal club.
  9. Early return from a cruise in which you are participating does not entitle you to expect that your slip will be made available for you. Reciprocal cruises allow that the visiting boats may remain in their slips until midday on the final day of the cruise.

Please email the Cruising Director if you have any further questions
