Highlights of the Cruising Policy

• The “Commodore’s Cruise” will be the choice of the current Commodore
• Club Cruise Captain sign up will open one week prior to Club Cruise sign up.
• Members are limited to 2 cruises at initial sign up.
• In general, cruises will be limited to 15 boats, but this may change in consultation with reciprocal clubs.
• Full Outer Harbour members are limited to two (2) boats per cruise as the OYS Visitor’s Dock is limited to two (2) moorings.
• Registration for Club Cruises is in order of sign up (time stamp on registration).
• No one, except the Commodore for the Commodore’s Cruise, has priority for sign-up, including Cruise Directors.
• Members who wish to attend club cruises without a boat must contact the Cruise Captain prior to the cruise departure but should not pre-register for the cruise.
• Cruises may be opened to members if there is space available one week prior to the cruise, at the discretion of the Cruise Director.
• If no members volunteer as Cruise Captain for a cruise, social activities will not be provided or supported by the club.
• Guests of members who wish to attend the cruise (including adult children) are welcome if the Cruise Captain is notified before the cruise (1 week). Members will be charged $25 per guest by
• the Club Manager.
• Registrants must remove themselves from the cruise as soon as they know that they will no longer be able to attend the cruise. Failure to provide advance notification (48 hours) of cancellation is
• inconvenient and disruptive to fellow members and cruise captains. Any member who does not attend a cruise for which they signed up will be charged $50. This fee may be waived by the Cruising Director at
• their discretion.
• Registrants wishing to cancel their attendance on a cruise must provide e-mail notification (of cancellation) to the Cruising Directors and the Cruise Captain if communications associated with the cruise have been started/established.
