Sailing School – Junior and Youth Sailing Camps

Junior Sailors

For the young beginning enthusiast who is 7 years or older, we offer a program in our fleet of Mosquito sailboats. These boats are generally sailed by one person and are extremely stable. This program provides an exciting opportunity for young students to experience sailing and become more comfortable being on the water.

2 week program – $475.00 + *HST

White Sail

For the beginner who is 10 years or older, we offer a program in our fleet of CL-14 sailboats. These boats are generally sailed by 3 to 4 and are extremely stable. Instruction in water safety; basic boat handling and sail trim; knots; rigging and de-rigging; basic weather patterns; sailing terminology and skills; self-rescue techniques.

2 week program – $475.00 + *HST

extra session in Junior Sailors or White Sail

$410.00 + *HST

Note: HST is not charged for youth under 14 years.

Bronze Sail

After completion of White Sail III, youth aged 12 years and over learn about advanced sail trim and boat handling; performance sailing and proper boat trim; trapeze; spinnaker; physics of sailing; boat repair and maintenance. Successful completion of all White Sail levels is a pre-requisite.

4 week program – $895.00 + *HST

extra week – $240.00 + *HST

Silver/Gold Sail

For youth who have completed Bronze Sail V, an 8 week program is offered which focuses on racing techniques; rules; theory; tactics; advanced sail and boat trim; advanced boat handling. Regatta attendance is encouraged at the Silver level and mandatory for the Gold level. Sailors must provide their own boat and program fees include storage for the sailing season.

4 week program – $895.00 + *HST

8 week program – $1,300.00 + *HST

Spring Training – $250.00 + *HST

Fall Training – $175.00+ *HST

Complete Silver/Gold Package (includes 8 week Summer, Spring & Fall Training) – $1,600 +*HST

Optimist Learn to Race

For youth who have an interest in Optimist dinghy racing, a 6 week program is offered which focuses on racing techniques; rules; theory; tactics; advanced sail and boat trim; advanced boat handling. Sailors must provide their own boat and program fees include storage for the sailing season.

6 week program – $990.00 + *HST

extra 2 week – $300.00 + *HST

Optimist Learn to Race Package  (includes 6 week Summer, Spring & Fall Training) – $1,300.00 +*HST
