GHYRA Race Week
Mark your calendars: GHYRA Race Week is July 7-12
GHYRA (Golden Horseshoe Yacht Racing Association) is an organization that has been around for many years and provided exciting and varied racing activities for sailors at our end of the lake.
For 2012 the GHYRA organizing committee has developed an exciting challenge for all sailors. GHYRA Regatta week takes place from July 7th to 12th and Racers and Cruisers alike are encouraged to participate in a whole week of sailing with events catering to all interests and ability levels.
Each day the entire fleet will make their way from one location to the next; host clubs include BS&BC, FPYC, The Oakville Club, OYS, DYC, BHYC and RHYC. There will be races for the various classes each day and the cruising group will be sent off in a more leisurely fashion participating in a low stress fun filled sail. We are already getting a lot of interest from GHYRA club members and may have to limit the number of entries, if you are at all interested we recommend that you register your interest by clicking here; when official event registration opens in May you will be given priority registration before it is opened up to a wider audience (we cannot guarantee you a slot if you don’t register your interest). GHYRA will also keep you updated on event details as they are released and you can also view all the event details at www.ghyra.org.
