Sailing World voted it one of the best low cost PHRF racers. Others have referred to it as “Cheap Speed”. Rod Johnstone once remarked over a beer that it was “one of his better designs”. The hull of the J/80 is a direct evolution of this boat; in fact, it’s rumored to be the same mold with just a foot chopped of the back .
After 29 years, the J/27 is still highly competitive, physically & tactically challenging to sail and an emerging One Design Fleet in our area and club.
For about $15k you can:
• Pass 35 Footers Upwind
• Surf Downwind at 14 knots in 20 knot of air
• Do it all at a lower annual costs and with less crew than equivalent boats
• Join the fastest growing One Design fleet in Oakville
• Become part of a Welcoming & Corinthian group of 13 owners regionally

Anyone thinking of buying or changing up their boat and interested in becoming part of this fleet can contact me at andrew_riem@hotmail.com as I have a list of hulls currently for sale.
